Guests of Honour

Discover the Guests of Honour for the 15th edition of Le livre sur les quais

Le livre sur les quais will be celebrating its 15th anniversary from 30th August to 1st September!

The whole team is hard at work to bring you a colourful anniversary edition.

This year, the festival is delighted to be co-presided over by writer Maylis de Kerangal and Joseph Incardona! Two major authors on the French and Swiss literary scene to blow out our 15 candles.

We’re celebrating Switzerland and the richness and diversity of its literature. We’ll be welcoming authors from French, German, Italian and Romansh-speaking Switzerland, including Pascale Kramer, Dominique Bourg, Marc Agron, Peter Stamm, Ariane Koch, Olimpia de Girolamo, Pedro Lenz, Fanny Desarzens and many others.

Last but not least, the publishing house Éditions Zoé and their unique and exceptional catalogue will be featured as guest publishers. Founded in 1975 by Marlyse Pietri and now directed by Caroline Coutau, it boasts over 900 titles, past and present, from Switzerland, Africa and elsewhere. Particular attention is paid to the almost nothing and the ordinary, which allows for nuance and the blending of dark and light. The publisher’s authors decipher the world and elucidate its complexity and paradoxes. The Genevan publishing house will be bringing some fifteen local and international authors to the quayside.

The body and ecology are two of the festival’s key themes. Up to 150 authors, including Véronique Olmi, David Foenkinos, Grégoire Delacourt, Yann Queffélec and Anne Nivat, will be on hand for meetings and book signings. There will be a variety of workshops and meetings for young readers and families, alongside some thirty children’s book authors, including Christine Pompéï, Amélie Antoine, Pierre Alexis, Reto Crameri and illustrator Fanny Dreyer, winner of the Swiss Children’s Book Prize 2024.

To mark this anniversary, Le livre sur les quais will be selling a range of souvenir items in the colours of the event at its stand next to the ticket office.
